DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings took to the ice at Little Caesars Arena's BELFOR Training Center on Wednesday, enjoying their first two-day break between games since mid-November. This respite allowed the team to regroup before facing the Philadelphia Flyers.

Red Wings player Lucas Raymond expressed his satisfaction with the demanding schedule, saying, "It’s been a lot of games recently, which is fun. It’s nice. I’d rather have it that way... But obviously, getting a day off and getting the mind and body to kind of relax a little bit is nice."

Head coach Derek Lalonde emphasized the importance of maintaining energy levels throughout the 82-game season while improving performance through practice. "It’s that balance of needing to get better with reps but having some energy," he said.

Lalonde also provided updates on goalies Cam Talbot and Alex Lyon. Both players returned to practice following lower-body injuries. Talbot last played on December 1st, while Lyon's last appearance was November 25th. "We’re hoping to have Talbot for tomorrow," Lalonde noted.

Prospect Sebastian Cossa was reassigned to the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins after making his NHL debut earlier this week against the Buffalo Sabres. Lalonde remarked on Cossa's progress: "What an experience... you can’t get much more of a pinnacle or high in his game."

Cossa will return to AHL action with enhanced confidence from his NHL stint. "I think he goes down with almost a confidence of, ‘Hey, I got my win up there,'" Lalonde added.
