Detroit City Football Club has announced that defender Michael Bryant has signed a two-year contract extension with the team. This new agreement will keep Bryant with the club through the 2026 season. Since joining Detroit City FC in 2022, Bryant has become an integral part of the team's defense.

Bryant, originally from Portola Hills, California, joined DCFC ahead of their entry into the USL Championship in February 2022. Prior to this, he played for three seasons with Cal United Strikers and served as captain for Orange County FC from 2017 to 2019. During his time there, he contributed to a significant run in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

In his first season with Detroit City FC, Bryant started in 24 out of 30 matches and scored four goals. His defensive skills were highlighted by his 47 interceptions, which helped lead DCFC to its first USL Championship playoff appearance.

The following year, Bryant increased his impact by starting in 32 out of 34 matches and achieving a career-high of 63 interceptions. His performance included key plays during DCFC's playoff victory against Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

During the 2024 season, Bryant participated in 34 matches and made one goal during a game against The Miami FC. He also became the fifth player in club history to reach over a hundred appearances for Detroit City FC.

Over his tenure at DCFC, Bryant has scored seven goals and registered more than 150 interceptions across over a hundred matches.
