Today, the Detroit Regional Chamber issued a statement from its President and Chief Executive Officer Sandy K. Baruah on behalf of its Political Action Committee (PAC). The PAC conducted interviews with both the Democratic and Republican candidates for Michigan’s U.S. Senate seat this month but did not reach a two-thirds consensus necessary for an endorsement.

"After thorough interviews and evaluations, we were unable to secure the required majority vote among our members," Baruah stated. "We believe it is essential to remain neutral in this race."

The Detroit Regional Chamber's PAC has historically been involved in political endorsements, often influencing local elections through their support.

"We encourage all Michiganders to engage in the electoral process and make informed decisions based on the candidates' positions and policies," added Baruah.

The Chamber's decision highlights the ongoing competitive nature of Michigan's Senate race as both parties vie for voter support.
