Walsh College in Troy is partnering with the Lansing-based Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM) Foundation through the Small Business Support Hub Grant Program to provide educational opportunities for small businesses in Michigan.

As an SBAM Foundation Hub Partner and Grant Program recipient, Walsh College will offer a variety of bootcamps, workshops, networking events, and other resources. The program is funded by the Michigan Economic Development Corp. and aims to deliver free programming tailored for established businesses.

Some of the topics covered include tech-enabled marketing strategies, artificial intelligence (AI) for business, leadership and management development, finance and accounting for business growth, human resources, sales strategy and improvement, cybersecurity and information technology, economic trends from the Federal Reserve for small businesses, business growth via technology licensing and mergers & acquisitions (M&A), legal support for businesses, CFO mastermind sessions, and CEO roundtables/mentorships.

“Our Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is excited to offer this suite of services, bootcamps, and more to help Michigan small businesses grow to the next level via our newly launched Business Innovation and Growth Hub,” said Daniel Sem, executive director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Walsh. “Besides having access to these workshops, businesses can access fractional experts, consultants, and use our on-site core facilities and associated short-term coworking space. We are eager to help you innovate and grow your business to the next level.”

To qualify for the SBSH Grant Program, businesses must be registered as a for-profit entity with fewer than 500 employees operating within Michigan. The program aims to be inclusive of socially and economically disadvantaged individuals as well as those disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. Currently, over 95 percent of applicants meet or exceed admission requirements.

“We are so excited to be an SBAM Hub Partner and grant program recipient,” said Suzy Siegle, president and CEO of Walsh College. “We are grateful to the SBAM Foundation for collaborating with us to serve the greater Michigan business community. Walsh College is a top-tier business and technology college with a rich history of practical education designed for working professionals. We are real-world education for real-world results. And we’ve been delivering these results and this education for over 100+ years.”
