Detroit City FC concluded their regular season with an undefeated record of 10-2-0 after a decisive 3-0 victory against AFC Ann Arbor on the road.
From the outset, Le Rouge dominated the wide channels and sought to work the ball inside to forwards Joyelle Washington and Lily Jeakle. This approach resulted in several early half-chances for Washington. Despite creating a few opportunities, AFC Ann Arbor struggled to convert them into shots, allowing Detroit City to grow in confidence and push their backline deeper into their own half.
In the 27th minute, a well-delivered corner found Acadia Murphy, who headed it in to give Detroit City a deserved 1-0 lead. This advantage was maintained into halftime as AFC Ann Arbor made some adjustments that kept Le Rouge at bay for the final 20 minutes of the first half.
Detroit City FC emerged from halftime with increased intensity, coming close to doubling their lead on multiple occasions. This effort culminated in a 77th-minute goal by Lily Jeakle, who was played behind the Ann Arbor defense with an excellent pass from Ella Offer. Jeakle took her first touch, muscled off a defender, and scored to make it 2-0.
As the match entered second-half stoppage time, Kayla Addison capitalized on a through ball from Jeakle and finished into the bottom corner, sealing a 3-0 victory for Detroit City.
