The Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM) Foundation has announced that its Small Business Support Hub (SBSH) Grant Program is now accepting applications for grant funding. The SBSH Grant Program was created to address the needs of established businesses in the first and second stages that have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This program offers free programming, courses, events, and support designed to help small businesses recover from the effects of the pandemic and achieve success.
Qualifying for the SBSH Grant Program does not require applicants to be members of SBAM or any business organization. Applicants will not need to submit personal information such as business financial reports, personal financial statements, or previous years’ tax returns. Once an application is completed, the SBAM Foundation team will review it to determine eligibility.
Approved participants in the SBSH Grant Program will gain full access to a catalog of free programming, courses, events, and support offered by subject matter experts in Michigan. Participants can select and register for programs they believe will benefit their business most.
Programming categories include:
- Marketing
- Growth Strategy
- Leadership and Management Development
- Operations and Procedures
- Financial Literacy and Accounting
- Human Resources
- Sales Strategy and Sales Improvement
- Business and Interpersonal Communication
- Information Technology
- CEO Roundtables/Mentorships
- Compliance/Governance/Government Engagement
- Capital Development
- Certification and Licensure
The SBSH Grant Program also offers direct monetary grants to support business stability and growth. To qualify for a direct grant, participants must engage in programs under the Small Business Support Hub within six months prior to applying for the grant.
To be eligible for a direct grant of up to $5,000, participants must accumulate a minimum composite score of six points based on their engagement with various programs. Points reflect the complexity of subject matter and time commitment required. During review processes for direct grants, participants with higher point values may receive priority consideration.
More information about the SBSH Grant Program can be found through SBAM Foundation’s resources.
