In February, the Detroit sector of the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) arrested 52 illegal immigrants from 10 different countries. This sector encompasses five stations.

Robert (Brad) Simon, Chief Patrol Agent of the Detroit sector of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, revealed these statistics in a post on social media platform X. "The individuals were from Canada, China, Congo, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Korea, Mexico, Venezuela, and Yemen," according to Simon's post.

Tracing back its origins to the US Customs Service established on July 31, 1789, the US Customs and Border Protection has a long history. The website of the History of the US Customs and Border Protection states that immigration inspectors assumed their responsibilities when the Office of the Superintendent of Immigration was created on March 3, 1891.
