Regular yard waste pick-up begins April 3. Yard waste, which includes grass clippings, plants, trimmings, soil, etc., and is separate from regular rubbish, should be placed in your green 64-gallon City yard waste bin. Rolling green yard waste toters (similar to the large blue recycling toters and matching brown trash toters) are now available for purchase from City Hall for $65 and are your best option for disposing of yard waste.Yard waste will not be picked up in plastic bags and will not be collected prior to April 3.
Plastic waste containers marked with “Yard Waste” stickers are also acceptable. Stickers are available at City Hall. Place stickers on containers to be used for yard waste. Biodegradable brown paper bags may also be used for yard waste. Both the plastic containers and the biodegradable bags should not exceed 50 lbs. in weight or 32 gallons in size.
Starting April 3, please place yard waste at the curb prior to 7:30 am on your respective rubbish collection day. Please do not co-mingle your yard waste with household rubbish. Contact City Hall for more information, (313) 885-5800
