CHIPPER AND BRUSH SERVICES HAVE RESUMED EARLY FOR THE 2023 SEASON

CHIPPER AND BRUSH SERVICES | City of Livonia

Chipper service for brush and branch disposal has resumed for the 2023 season early due to the sheer volume of damaged trees from the latest storms. Tree branches and tree limbs must be longer than four feet in length. Branches should be stacked with all of the cut ends in one direction, preferably towards the street, for chipper service. From now until Memorial Weekend, it is not necessary to request service. Chipper crews continually circulate through neighborhoods approximately every fifteen working days. Stumps, logs, vines or roots cannot be placed out for chipper disposal. June through September, requests must be submitted when your brush is at the curb and may be done by calling the Department of Public Works at (734) 466-2655, choosing the brush option and leaving a voicemail with your address, or emailing your brush request to brush@livonia.gov

Brush and branches may also be disposed of on your weekly trash collection day provided it is broken down and placed in garbage cans, paper compost bags or tied into bundles of less than four feet in length and less than fifty pounds. Yard waste collection resumes on the week of March 27.  There is a limit of five bundles per week. Separated yard waste collection service in containers or bundles will continue on your regular trash collection day through Dec. 8.

Livonia residents may dispose of wood waste for free at the Wood Waste Disposal Facility on Glendale Avenue east of Farmington Road.  For more information, please visit our Wood Waste Disposal Facility webpage.
