Today, we cut the ribbon on the Wayne County Probate Court Behavioral Health Unit (BHU). 

This unit seeks to increase the use of Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT), court-ordered treatment for individuals with a serious mental illness. We have begun working with in-patient hospitals and outpatient treatment providers to ensure a smooth transition from hospitalization to community treatment. 

Justice means using all the resources at our disposal – and creating new resources when necessary – to ensure that our system is as fair and balanced as possible; but also, compassionate.
