Today we celebrate the retirement of NDL Youth Services Librarian, Laura Bomia. Laura has served the Northville community for more than 25 years and is the Library's longest tenured employee. She began working at NDL in December of 1997, when the Internet was new. "I think how much technology has changed has been the biggest challenge," she said. "When I started the library had only three computers!"

Initially unsure of what type of librarianship she'd pursue, she knew after spending a day as an intern in the children's department at another public library that she wanted to work in Youth Services. Laura has managed the youth fiction collection for many years and loves seeing kids enjoy the books. "I'll really miss working with the kids, seeing them grow up using the library," she says. "But I'm looking forward to quilting, baking, and traveling!"

On behalf of the Northville community, we thank Laura for her invaluable years of service to the Library, and wish her happiness in her well-deserved retirement!
