Afflicted Relief Grant Program for Small Businesses

City of Ecorse recently issued the following announcement.

BREAKING: State of Michigan Launches Afflicted Relief Grant Program for Businesses Negatively Impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic

Today, the Michigan Department of Treasury announced the Afflicted Relief Grant Program to provide $409 million of federal American Rescue Plan Act funding to eligible businesses negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent health emergencies.

The grant program creates a process for businesses to receive a percentage of financial losses incurred calculated based upon the entity’s timeline of operation. To check your business’ eligibility, click here.

Eligible businesses include banquet facilities, concert halls, cinemas, theaters, cosmetology and barber services, gyms, food service, hotels, recreational facilities, and others. 

For questions and more information, the state’s Treasury Department will be hosting multiple informational webinars on the following days and times:

  • Thursday, Feb. 17 at 9-10 a.m. EST
  • Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 10-11 a.m. EST
  • Monday, March 7 at 1-2 p.m. EST

Applications will be live on March 1, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. and are due by 11:59 p.m. on March 31. Recipients will be notified by the spring and can expect to receive funds no later than July 1, 2022.
