City of Livonia issued the following announcement on Dec 3.

Mayor Maureen Miller Brosnan and Chief Thomas Goralski have issued a statement on school safety following Oxford High School Tragedy.

“In the wake of the tragedy at Oxford High School, we want to assure Livonia families, parents, teachers and students that the City of Livonia is in constant communication with the leadership of Livonia Public Schools and Clarenceville School District as well as private schools in Livonia. Together, we work collaboratively to ensure a safe environment for learning in our community. The Livonia Police Department conducts thorough and complete investigations of any and all reported threats, and we are grateful for their efforts to reassure the community in recent days. Additionally, the Livonia Police Department monitors social media proactively. To be clear, LPD has confirmed no credible threats have been made regarding our schools.

We encourage all in our community to keep a watchful eye and report any concerns to the Livonia Police Department for their investigation as we continue to process the events of recent days and resume learning next week.”
