FEMA's Individuals and Households Program

Disaster plan

City of Hamtramck issued the following announcement on Oct 27.

FEMA's Individuals and Households Program has a new category of funds for homes damaged by the June 25/26 flooding, to help homeowners protect their homes from future damage. This assistance is available for owner-occupied primary residences damaged during the June 25/26 flood event, for use on specific damaged items that were present and functional before the flooding.

FEMA recommends that you speak with a representative before proceeding. You may visit with a representative at the Disaster Recovery Center located in Hamtramck City Hall. You can also call FEMA at 800-621-3362 (if you need language assistance, press 3 for all languages except Spanish).

The deadline to apply for assistance is November 12.
