City of Allen Park issued the following announcement on July 8.
Today at 9:30 AM, the Downriver Dispatch called out a special alarm that was sent to all the Downriver Fire Departments for retiring Fire Chief Douglas LaFond. After nearly 26 years with the Allen Park Fire Department, Chief LaFond is planning to enjoy his retirement in Michigan and Florida - most notably Disney World.
Thank you Chief LaFond for your years of service to the residents of Allen Park and best wishes in retirement.
