For several months I have witnessed with horror, people in Democrat-controlled cities protest, riot, steal, and escalate to murder.

This includes my hometown of Lansing, Michigan. These actions were allegedly done memory of George Floyd. In reality, the murderous mayhem demonstrates a weakness in liberal urban centers with, what I believe to be is apathetic Democrat leaders who hate our President more than they love this Country. Black Lives Matter and other anarchist terror groups have demanded inner cities defund their police. BLM sympathizers, liberal city leaders, and Joe Biden have embraced the idea of “reimagining policing” while our once beautiful cities burn.

When I read about innocent men, women, and children being gunned down, my heart aches. In my family alone, I have had three women murdered: cousins Nikki Hymer in Chicago, Jamelah Davis in Lansing, and my niece Lisa Marie Davis was killed in Atlanta. This was my family, and this is personal. 

In 2016, candidate Donald Trump spoke to the heart of Black people. He said, “Trust me with your vote. What do you have to lose?” Mr. Trump vowed to do everything in his power to protect our urban centers and bring law and order to the people, mostly people of color who have suffered under liberal rule. President Trump immediately sought to stop the bloodshed in Chicago. Liberal Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel called the windy city a “Trump Free Zone.” Today, Mayor Lightfoot stands aloof while the Miracle Mile is in need of a miracle. Inner cities are ravaged by lawless criminals run amok by Democrat policies.

President Trump kept his promise and made supporting law enforcement and combating violent crime a key priority of his administration. He restored Project Safe Neighborhoods to get violent criminals off the streets and protect our communities. President Trump took decisive action and signed an Executive Order praised by law enforcement to help prevent violence against law enforcement officers, and in June, he signed an executive order addressing police reform. Most importantly, President Trump is expanding Operation Legend to restore law and order in cities plagued by violence.

There are no words and no excuses for the silence and absence of Joe Biden and his running mate, Kamala Harris while mothers, fathers, and children are being murdered in the streets. Democrats have no mulligans when it comes to those they left behind. I stand with President Trump to #DefendThePolice rather than Biden-Harris who choose to #DefundThePolice.
