The Michigan Senate Republicans recently tweeted in support of Pledge of Allegiance Day.
The group's Twitter account tweeted about Pledge of Allegiance Day, which was held on Dec. 28, to its more than 11,000 Twitter followers. The tweet included a photo of Senate members standing for the Pledge of Allegiance on the Michigan State Senate floor.
The tweet read: "Today is Pledge of Allegiance Day! We start every #MISenate session by reciting the Pledge: “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
National Pledge of Allegiance Day was proclaimed by then-President George H.W. Bush in August of 1989.
