Wayne County Treasurer issued the following announcement on Nov. 20.
On November 20, 2019, Wayne County Treasurer, Eric R. Sabree welcomed United States Marine Corps Sergeant Major Ronald L. Green to Detroit.
During the whirlwind visit, Treasurer Sabree escorted the Sergeant Major to the Michigan Veteran's Foundation in Detroit where they had lunch and spoke with the veterans and active-duty members of the military, thanking them for their service.
After lunch, Treasurer Sabree and Sergeant Major Green moved on to tour the Piquette Square for Veterans, a 150-unit apartment project in Detroit that provides care and housing for homeless veterans.
Piquette Square offers comprehensive support services to help the veterans develop self-sufficiency and reintegrate into the community.
Piquette Square for Veterans is owned and managed by Southwest Solutions, a 501(c)(3), which provides health and housing services to Detroit's homeless community.
