The Wayne County Department of Public Services' Equipment Division will hold its yearly auction on Saturday, September 21 at 10 a.m. at Greater Detroit Auto Auction (preview day on Friday, September 20). The auction allows the County to sell equipment and vehicles it no longer needs and provide the proceeds to the department listing the item for auction. Items will be coming from the Engineering, Roads, Parks and Sheriff's departments. The full list can be found on WayneCounty.com and greaterdetroitaa.com.
More than 75 items are listed for auction among them are 10 Yard Dump Trucks, Concrete Mixer, Aerial Lifts, Dodge Chargers and Crown Victoria's. If a participant wins the bid on an item, an additional 4.47 percent fee is required to the auctioneer. Final payments are expected on within two days. Acceptable forms of payment are cash, cashier's checks, certified checks, money orders and traveler's checks. Credit cards including Visa, MasterCard and Discover are accepted up to $500.00 per transaction for deposit only.
