Detroit City Football Club is set to embark on a four-match road tour beginning this weekend against their Eastern Conference rivals, Indy Eleven. Scheduled for a Saturday evening kickoff at 7 p.m., the game will be streamed on ESPN+ and broadcast for free in Michigan on CBSDetroit.com and locally on CW Detroit 50 (WKBD-TV).
Detroit City comes into this encounter with confidence, following a 1-0 triumph against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC in the USL Jägermeister Cup last Saturday. Darren Smith's goal in the 92nd minute secured the victory for Detroit. At present, Detroit City ranks third in the Jägermeister Cup Group Stage, trailing Rhode Island FC and Hartford Athletic by goal differential.
In contrast, Indy Eleven occupies the ninth position in the Eastern Conference. Despite a challenging league season with only one win—a 3-1 victory over Miami FC on March 15—Indy has shown strength in cup competitions with victories against Miami FC in the US Open Cup and Forward Madison FC in the Jägermeister Cup.
Indy Eleven's recent league performance saw them lose 3-1 to Charleston Battery, with MD Myers netting two early goals. Arturo Rodriquez added another before the hour mark, and although Elvis Amoh scored a consolation goal during stoppage time, the defeat remained.
For forward Sebastián Guenzatti, returning to Indianapolis brings a special perspective, having previously played for Indy Eleven in 67 matches over the last two seasons, scoring a total of 16 goals. Meanwhile, Elvis Amoh of Indy will face his former team, marking his first match against Detroit since transferring from Le Rouge, where he scored three goals in 26 appearances during the 2024 season.
