Detroit City Football Club has confirmed the extension of defender Rhys Williams' contract, securing his place in the team through the 2026 season. Williams, identified as Legacy No. 185, has been a key player for the club, making seven appearances this year and joining the team prior to the 2022 season.

Williams ranks 7th in appearances for the club, with a total of 113 since his debut on March 12, 2022, against San Antonio FC. He is also tied for 8th in all-time assists for the club and has scored three goals, all during the 2024 season.

Before joining Detroit City FC, Williams played for several clubs, including Stumptown AC, South Georgia Tormenta, Lansing Ignite, Real Monarchs, and New York Cosmos B, after his collegiate career at Columbia University from 2013 to 2016.

Detroit City FC will return to Keyworth Stadium on April 26, kicking off the 2025 USL Jägermeister Cup against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC in a Group 4 stage match. Tickets for the event are currently available.
