The Detroit Red Wings are set to conclude their weekend back-to-back series against the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday night. This comes shortly after a 4-3 overtime loss to the Minnesota Wild at Little Caesars Arena. The matchup, scheduled for 6 p.m., will be broadcasted on FanDuel Sports Network Detroit Extra and the Red Wings Radio Network.
Reflecting on Saturday's game, Lucas Raymond remarked, “We get another crack at it right away [on Sunday]. We know what we should have done better [on Saturday]. I think we played a pretty solid game for the first two-and-a-half [periods], then let it slip away from us.”
Raymond and team captain Dylan Larkin each scored a power-play goal and provided an assist in their recent match against the Wild. Their performances brought their season totals to 61 points for Raymond and 52 points for Larkin. Both players recently participated in the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off, representing their respective countries.
Larkin shared his thoughts on the international tournament: “It was a great experience... It’s definitely a huge motivator to come back, play [Saturday] and push our team to make the playoffs.” He concluded the tournament with two points as part of Team USA, which lost to Canada in overtime during the championship game.
On Sunday, Detroit will face an Anaheim Ducks team that has been successful recently, winning seven of their last eight games. Troy Terry leads Anaheim with 40 points this season, while Frank Vatrano follows closely behind with three goals in his last five games.
Detroit head coach Todd McLellan commented on both teams completing back-to-back games: “There’s time in between for us...We’ve been off for two weeks. I expect our group to come back [on Sunday] ready and willing.”
Anaheim goalie John Gibson left their previous game due to injury, leaving Lukas Dostal to secure victory by stopping nine shots.
