The Detroit Red Wings are set to face the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena on Sunday night, aiming for their sixth consecutive victory. The game marks the season series finale between the two teams, with puck drop scheduled for 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

The Red Wings (26-21-5; 57 points) recently secured a 3-1 win over the Calgary Flames, marking their fifth straight win. Dominik Shine emphasized the importance of starting strong against the Canucks (23-18-10; 56 points), saying, “We need to get off to a good start. If we can get off to a good start, we have a good chance.”

Shine recorded his first NHL point in the game against Calgary by assisting on Dylan Larkin's opening goal. Larkin is currently on a three-game point streak and is close to achieving his fourth consecutive 50-point season.

Goalie Cam Talbot praised Larkin's leadership: “The leadership of [Larkin], he just kind of pulls everyone along with him.” Talbot also noted that players like Lucas Raymond and Marco Kasper have elevated their performances alongside Larkin.

Head coach Todd McLellan highlighted the significance of having two effective goaltenders in Cam Talbot and Alex Lyon. He stated, “In my opinion, you need to have two [goalies] in the NHL to win... To have both playing the way that they are is a real good sign.”

Meanwhile, the Canucks experienced a setback with a 5-3 loss to the Dallas Stars after winning three games consecutively. They made several trades recently, acquiring Filip Chytil and Victor Mancini from the New York Rangers and sending Danton Heinen and Vincent Desharnais to Pittsburgh in exchange for Marcus Pettersson and Drew O’Connor.

As they prepare for another Western Conference matchup, Shine expressed confidence in his team’s camaraderie: “Guys are rooting for each other. It’s a positive bench. We’re playing good hockey, and I think that’s a big factor.”
