Following a day off on Sunday, the Detroit Red Wings resumed practice at Little Caesars Arena’s BELFOR Training Center on Monday morning. They are scheduled to practice again on Tuesday before facing the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday night. The team is building on their recent 4-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Patrick Kane commented, "It would almost be nice if you’re going back at it the next day or today," emphasizing the importance of maintaining momentum from their last game against a strong opponent like Toronto. He added, "We got to be ready for the next one."
Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin took a maintenance day and is considered day-to-day according to head coach Derek Lalonde but is expected to play against the Flyers. Marco Kasper missed practice due to illness, but Lalonde hopes he will return by Tuesday.
Goalie Cam Talbot left Monday’s practice early as planned. Lalonde mentioned, "I do not see him available for Wednesday, but we hope he’ll be available for Friday." Meanwhile, Alex Lyon might return from injured reserve by Wednesday. Lalonde stated, "I’ll get a read post-practice today... We’re hoping to have him available for Wednesday."
Ville Husso has been providing stability in goal for Detroit amid injuries to Talbot and Lyon. He allowed two goals or less in his last three starts and made 23 saves against Toronto. Lalonde praised Husso's performance since being recalled from the American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins.
