With their road trip now heading to California, the Detroit Red Wings are set to play against the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center on Friday night. The game between the Red Wings (7-7-1; 15 points) and Ducks (5-8-2; 12 points) will start at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT and can be viewed on FanDuel Sports Network Detroit or listened to on the Red Wings Radio Network.

The Red Wings began their trip with a victory, defeating the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2 in overtime on Wednesday. Jonatan Berggren and Patrick Kane scored during regulation, while Simon Edvinsson secured the win in overtime for Detroit. “We started really good,” Lucas Raymond commented about the game.

Afterward, the team traveled overnight to California and spent Thursday adjusting to the time zone change. “We had a good day yesterday,” Raymond noted about their rest day.

Detroit’s head coach Derek Lalonde announced lineup changes after Friday’s morning skate at Honda Center: “Same forward group [as Wednesday] and we are going to have Albert Johansson in for Justin Holl.” Alex Lyon will be returning as goalie after recovering from a lower-body injury. "We expect him to be good tonight," said Lalonde.

Anaheim, last in their division, recently lost to the Vegas Golden Knights. The Ducks are concluding a homestand where they have only managed one win so far. Troy Terry and Leo Carlsson lead Anaheim in goals this season, while goalies Lukas Dostal and John Gibson boast strong statistics.

“A lot more physical than I had probably anticipated,” Lalonde remarked regarding Anaheim's playing style.
