Detroit City Football Club has confirmed a contract extension for forward Ben Morris. The new agreement guarantees two years with an option for a third year in 2027. Morris, who joined the club at the start of the 2023 season, has been a consistent presence in Detroit's starting lineup, participating in 67 league games over the past two seasons.

Morris transitioned to DCFC from Ipswich Town following the expiration of his contract at the end of 2022. His early professional career involved loan spells at various clubs, including Woking FC, Forest Green Rovers, and GAIS.

In his debut season with Detroit City FC in 2023, Morris played every available USL Championship match, starting in 32 out of 33 games. He scored his first goals for DCFC on June 14th with a brace against Hartford Athletic. Later in the season, he scored another brace against Birmingham Legion on August 27th and concluded his debut year with six goals and two assists.

During the 2024 season, Morris maintained his form by appearing in all USL Championship matches and three US Open Cup matches. He scored ten goals and four assists that season. Notably, he scored braces against Tampa Bay Rowdies and San Antonio FC.

His performances earned him the Players Player of the Year award in 2024 as voted by his teammates at Detroit City FC.

Throughout his time with Le Rouge, Morris has made significant contributions across 67 matches with a total of 16 goals and six assists over 5,256 minutes played.
