The Detroit Lions have confirmed the signing of defensive lineman Alim McNeill to a contract extension that will keep him with the team through the 2028 season. The specific terms of the contract were not disclosed by the team.

McNeill, who joined the NFL as a third-round draft pick from North Carolina State in 2021, has been a key player for the Lions. In the current season, he has participated in five games and recorded eight tackles, including five solo efforts. Additionally, McNeill has achieved three tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks totaling 19 yards, and one pass defense.

Over his career with the Lions, McNeill has started in 41 out of 52 games played. His performance includes accumulating 120 total tackles with 54 being solo tackles. He also has registered 18 tackles for loss and achieved 10.5 sacks over his tenure with the team.
