Detroit City FC secured a 3-0 victory against The Miami FC in their final home game of the 2024 regular season, moving closer to hosting their first USL Championship playoff game. Goals from Rhys Williams and Laurent Kissiedou, along with a penalty converted by goalkeeper Nate Steinwascher, contributed to the win.

Head coach Danny Dichio made adjustments to the lineup following a draw with Indy Eleven. Ryan Williams replaced James Murphy due to yellow card accumulation, while Connor Rutz returned from suspension.

The match began with Detroit City showing strong attacking intent. Rhys Williams hit the post early on, and Maxi Rodriguez's attempt was saved by Miami's goalkeeper in the 32nd minute. The breakthrough came in the 39th minute when Rhys Williams scored after a rebound from Connor Rutz’s header.

Detroit City continued their pressure into the second half. Despite several close attempts, it was not until the 75th minute that Laurent Kissiedou doubled their lead following a turnover forced by Alex Villanueva.

In stoppage time, Miami conceded a penalty which Nate Steinwascher successfully converted, sealing the 3-0 victory for Detroit City. Post-match celebrations saw Maxi Rodriguez named as the 2024 Black Arrow MVP.

Detroit City will conclude their regular season next Saturday against San Antonio FC at 9:30 p.m., with tickets available on their website for upcoming matches including potential playoff games.
