The Detroit Red Wings have announced a change in the start time for their home opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Originally set for 7:00 p.m., the game will now begin at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, at Little Caesars Arena.
This adjustment comes as Game Four of the American League Division Series is scheduled to take place at Comerica Park on the same evening, starting at 6:08 p.m. The Red Wings-Penguins match will be broadcast live on Bally Sports Detroit and WWJ Newsradio 950.
Due to expected heavy traffic in downtown Detroit, fans are advised to arrive early and consider reserving parking spots in advance through Olympia Parking via ParkWhiz.com.
In anticipation of both games, several venues including Mike’s Pizza Bar, The Mixing Board, and PointsBet Sports Bar will open their doors at 3:30 p.m. These locations are accessible to both ticketed and non-ticketed individuals. Additionally, Chevrolet Plaza and Budweiser Biergarten will host a Fan Fest starting at 4:30 p.m., with activities such as street hockey available near Little Caesars Arena. The band Collision Six is set to perform live in Chevrolet Plaza.
For those attending the Red Wings game, arena doors will open at 5:00 p.m. Ticket holders will receive an Opening Night Rally Towel sponsored by Coca-Cola Zero Sugar and Meijer. Coca-Cola samples can also be found in the Via concourse area.
