Detroit Red Wings fans are set to celebrate the start of the 2024-25 season with a series of events during Hockeytown Opening Week, sponsored by Coca-Cola Zero Sugar and Meijer. The festivities will take place on October 10, 12, and 17 at Chevrolet Plaza outside Little Caesars Arena.

The home opener against the Pittsburgh Penguins is scheduled for October 10. "We’re thrilled to welcome back the Hockeytown faithful with special events inside and outside of Little Caesars Arena to start the season," said Ryan Gustafson, President and CEO of Ilitch Sports + Entertainment. Fans can enjoy Fan Fest starting at 4:30 p.m., with street hockey and live music from Collison Six.

On October 12, ahead of the game against the Nashville Predators, fans can participate in the annual Hockeytown Red Carpet Walk. Local youth hockey players will escort attendees as they interact with Red Wings players and coaches. DJ Chachi will perform in Chevrolet Plaza, and Beerfest tickets are available for purchase.

The final event on October 17 features a pregame party before facing off against the New York Rangers. A Greyson Clothiers Pop-Up Shop will be open for fans who purchase a special ticket package. Weekend ComeBack will provide live entertainment.

Little Caesars Arena introduces new amenities this season, including a KultureCity Sensory Room designed for individuals with sensory processing needs. New concessions items include beef birria tacos and spicy Asian chicken sandwiches.

New merchandise brands such as Just Dishin and MUNICIPAL will be available alongside increased sponsorship presence from partners like Michigan First Credit Union Club.

Additionally, fans can purchase a Red Wings Pet Pack or join the Winged Wheel Nation waitlist for future games.

Ryan Gustafson emphasized that these events aim to harness fan energy for a strong home ice advantage throughout the season.
