Detroit City Football Club (DCFC) and Black Star will host the fourth annual Black Star Detroit weekend starting Friday, July 26. Launched in 2021, Black Star is a fan and player engagement brand facilitating the growth of soccer in Black American communities through content and storytelling, on-field experiences, curated fan events, and culturally inspired merchandise offerings. Black Star aims to elevate soccer in Black culture and empower the next generation of fans and players.

The free-to-participate First Touch Clinic, presented by Amazon, will take place on Saturday, July 27. It aims to provide an engaging soccer and cultural experience for boys and girls ages 7-12. The clinic is designed to improve participant skills and strengthen players’ love of the game. The event will include professional player meet-and-greets, giveaways, music, and other activities.

Black Star participants and their families will also have the opportunity to attend Detroit City FC’s match against Sacramento Republic FC with free tickets provided for the club’s home match.

Detroit City Football Club expressed enthusiasm about Amazon's continued support for a third year. Ian Conyers from Amazon stated, “At Amazon, we work hard every day to be a good neighbor and trusted community partner. We are proud to invest in the next generation of coaches and youth in our community.”

In addition to the First Touch Clinic on Saturday, there are several other free-to-participate events throughout the weekend:

- Community Pickup: Friday, July 26 from 6 PM – 11 PM

- Allstate Next Wave Showcase: Sunday, July 28 from 9 AM – 1 PM
