Detroit City FC is set to host River Light FC in the USL W League Central Conference Semifinal on Friday night. Le Rouge secured their first-ever playoff berth on the women’s side after winning the Great Lakes Division with an undefeated record of 10-2-0. Key victories included a double over Midwest United FC and a crucial win against Kalamazoo FC late in the season, ensuring their spot in the playoffs.

In their final regular-season match, Detroit City FC earned three points on the road against AFC Ann Arbor. Defender Acadia Murphy initiated the scoring in the first half with a precise header from a corner kick. Forwards Lily Jeakle and Kayla Addison added goals in the second half, marking the seventh match where Le Rouge scored multiple goals. The team also recorded their eighth clean sheet of the season.

River Light FC secured their playoff position by earning a wildcard slot with a points-per-match tally of 2.08, placing them second in the Heartland Division behind Minnesota Aurora FC. In both encounters between River Light and Minnesota, competition was tight; they drew 1-1 at the start of the season before Minnesota edged out River Light 3-2 in their return fixture.

Detroit City FC played a role in River Light's playoff bid by defeating Midwest United FC last Thursday, eliminating Midwest United from wildcard contention. This year marks River Light FC’s inaugural season competing in the USL W League.
