Detroit City FC is set to face Midwest United tonight, aiming to secure their first-ever W League playoff berth. The team, known as Le Rouge, enters the match following a 2-0 victory over Kalamazoo FC in their final home game of the 2024 regular season. Goals from Kayla Addison and Tatiana Mason led Detroit City FC to triumph on a hot summer day at Keyworth Stadium on Saturday, concluding their home matches with an impeccable 6-0-0 record.

Midwest United also approaches Thursday’s match in good form, having recently defeated Flint City AFC on Sunday away from home. Their last defeat was against Detroit City FC at Keyworth Stadium, where they lost 2-1.

A win or draw for Detroit City FC this evening will secure their place in the playoffs for the first time since the women's first team was established in 2020. Conversely, Midwest United must win to remain in playoff contention. Should Le Rouge lose tonight, they still have a chance to clinch their spot with a victory on Sunday against Ann Arbor.
