Detroit City FC is set to host Kalamazoo FC in the final W League regular season home match of 2024. Both teams are currently at the top of the USL W League standings, with Detroit City FC leading with 2.56 points per game, surpassing Kalamazoo FC’s tally of 2.00 points per game. Kalamazoo FC is level with Midwest United FC but has played one more match.

This encounter marks the second meeting between these two sides this season. The previous match ended in a tightly contested 0-0 draw at Mayors Riverfront Park, which saw some intense moments.

With just three games remaining for Detroit City FC and Midwest United FC, and two for Kalamazoo FC, the playoff scenario has become clearer. Midwest United FC can achieve a maximum of 27 points this season, while Kalamazoo can reach up to 26 points. Detroit City FC currently sits on 23 points and needs only five out of nine possible points to claim the Great Lakes Division title and secure their first-ever playoff berth.
