Comcast NBCUniversal
For more than a decade, Comcast has been committed to bridging the digital divide by connecting millions of Americans to affordable high-speed Internet, accelerating broadband adoption, and enhancing digital literacy. Last year, Comcast expanded its comprehensive connectivity and adoption initiative through Project UP, a $1 billion commitment to ensure everyone, including veterans, has the resources and opportunities they need to excel in today’s economy.
Comcast is working to empower everyone, especially those who have served our nation, with access to essential resources such as telehealth, VA benefits, career and education programs, and social connections. By connecting military communities, we give them the skills they need to participate and succeed in an increasingly digital world.
Approximately 15% of veteran households do not have access to the Internet, which is why Comcast continues to partner with veteran-serving organizations to service Lift Zones and provide a space for military communities to access free WiFi, participate in workforce development, gain digital literacy skills, and access telemedicine appointments.
Comcast has a history of supporting our military communities, including donating $197 million in cash and in-kind giving to veteran-serving organizations and communities since 2011. We also continue to work with military partners to develop digital literacy skills, Internet access programs, and advocacy initiatives.
We know that having Internet access and the resources necessary to navigate the digital world are critical to closing the opportunity gap, especially for our service members. Comcast thanks our military communities for their service, which is why we are dedicated to giving our service members the resources and skills they need to build a future of unlimited possibilities.
