4.8kV Hardening Program

News from DTE:

Next year, a portion of Allen Park will go through the 4.8kV Hardening program (new cross arms, removal of PLD wires, etc). In preparation for this work, you may notice DTE’s contractor, Exelon Clearsight, flying drones over DTE assets in the month of December.

We started using drones to photograph DTE overhead assets earlier this year and it has proven to be an efficient way to inspect equipment while at the same time, minimizing the disturbance to customers (ie not having to head into yards to photograph and inventory).

Why is only part of the neighborhood impacted? We run the program by substations – and the boundaries of these substation circuits do not follow along City or neighborhood borders.

The attached flyer includes a map of the area that will be covered for your reference as well as applicable timing.

Please find the following link as an easy way to access more information from DTE on this project.
