The Michigan Senate and House Oversight Committees have subpoenaed Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey to provide mail-in voting documents.

The chairmen of the committees, State Sen. Ed McBroom (R-Waucedah) and Rep. Matt Hall (R-Marshall) issued the subpoena.

The subpoena wants all documents involving the city’s absentee counting voting board structure, including hard drives and other storage devices, all time logs and copies of communications with the city’s poll workers.

The subpoena also requests hard drives and memory devices for adjudication machines, a list of all workers hired for adjudication at the TCF Center, purchase records for scanners and voting machines and the record of public accuracy test for all machines.

The document also states that the committees want records of communications with both party affiliations, video surveillance footage from TCF Center and the process for counting absentee ballots, a list of poll workers’ political affiliations and policies or instructions provided to poll workers.

The subpoena lists records of applications for positions of poll workers, a list of those authorized to pick up election materials, a list of those who made pickups and drop-offs during the election cycle, a record of when each drop-box was emptied on Election Day and if the boxes were locked and any directions given related to the rights and duties of challengers and the removal of challengers, as well as social-distancing guidelines.

The document also requests records of all Dominion employees that were at the TCF Center during the absentee voting counting board process and any records relating to which computers at the center were connected to the internet.

The committees want the documents no later than Jan. 12. The subpoena says that if the city clerk does not obey the legislature’s commands, she can be punished for contempt of the legislature.
