University of Detroit Mercy employee Cheryl C. Munday donates $261 to Gary Peters' campaign

Cheryl C. Munday, an employee at University of Detroit Mercy, donated $261 to Democratic Party candidate Gary Peters, according to the Federal Election Commission.

According to records, there have been $10,076 in campaign contributions made by individuals affiliated with University of Detroit Mercy as of November 3. All of these contributions were made to Democratic Party candidates and committees.

Alan Hoback's contribution of $2,800 to Democratic Party Elissa Slotkin was the largest contribution made by someone affiliated with University of Detroit Mercy since January 1, 2019.

According to an Inside Higher Ed analysis of federal elections data, individuals that were affiliated with colleges and universities have donated five times more money to Joe Biden than to President Trump. A study by Pew Research in 2017 found that 58 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents thought colleges and universities have a negative impact on the way things are going in this country.
