Cost of college went down for all students at the University of Detroit Mercy

Tuition and fees fell 32 percent for 2018-19 at the University of Detroit Mercy, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Michigan students paid $28,000 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $13,158 less than the $41,158 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 535 students received grants or scholarships totaling $17.3 million and 273 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.7 million.

Including all undergraduates (5,111), 2,508 students used grants or scholarships totaling $69 million, and 1,513 students took out $12.8 million in federal student loans.
