Detroit Public Library - Campbell issued the following announcement on March 23.
Consistent with Governor Whitmer's "Stay Home, Stay Safe" Executive order issued today, all DPL locations will remain closed to non-essential staff and the public until further notice.
Every day staff at the Detroit Public Library focus on how to best serve its customers. In the case of coronavirus, the best way the Library can serve its customers is to reduce opportunities for exposure. To this end, all Detroit Public Library locations will be closed through April 5, 2020. The mobile library and other outreach services are also discontinued during this time. The reopening of the library system will be re-evaluated prior to the April 5th date. All Library employees will be paid during this closure.
All drop box locations will be closed until further notice. Please do not return any library material at this time. While the Library is closed, its buildings will be cleaned and sanitized.
The Library’s online services are available for cardholders, including its vast collection of digital materials such as eBooks, downloadable audiobooks, streaming movies, and research tools for online learning.
The Library looks forward to welcoming customers back into our buildings. Until then, visit us on the web at www.detroitpubliclibrary.org to take advantage of our online resources 24/7.
