The midfielder, who has played in several countries including England, Wales, Scotland, Canada, Brazil, and Sweden, has been with Detroit for the past two seasons. During his time with the club, Williams has appeared in 55 matches and contributed two goals and one assist.

Before joining Detroit City FC, Williams spent three seasons at AFC Eskilstuna in Sweden’s second division. There he played 50 games and recorded one goal and one assist over 3,536 minutes on the field.

Williams also played in the USL Championship before coming to Detroit. In 2016, he joined Ottawa Fury FC during the summer transfer window and made 18 appearances that season. He scored four goals and was named the Fury’s Fans’ Player of the Year. The following year he added 20 more appearances with five goals and two assists. In 2019, after playing in Brazil and England, Williams returned to the USL Championship with Hartford Athletic where he scored four goals and had two assists across 27 matches.

Originally from Birkenhead, England, Williams began his career at Chester City’s youth academy. He later played for Colwyn Bay, Llandudno, and Rhyl in Wales. He was named to the Cymru Alliance Team of the Year twice—once each with Llandudno and Rhyl. Returning to England in 2013, Williams joined Morecambe FC where he made 61 appearances over two-and-a-half years while scoring six goals and providing four assists. His career then took him to Brentford FC for the 2015-16 season before moving on to Inverness Caledonian Thistle in Scotland’s top league.
