The Detroit Red Wings have announced the signing of defenseman William Lagesson to a two-year contract extension. Lagesson, 29, played seven games with the Red Wings during the 2024-25 season, contributing one assist and recording four penalty minutes. He also participated in 23 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League (AHL), where he achieved nine points and maintained a plus-13 rating.

Lagesson’s previous experience includes time with both the Toronto Maple Leafs and Anaheim Ducks during the 2023-24 season.
