On April 30, 2025, Tlaib expressed criticism against former President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office. She stated, “President Trump’s first 100 days in office have eroded our constitutional rights, illegally dismantled federal agencies, and consolidated power into the hands of the billionaire class.”
The following day, May 1, 2025, Tlaib addressed the lingering impacts of the Vietnam War on Vietnamese citizens and veterans. She referenced the ongoing repercussions of Agent Orange and announced new legislative proposals. She tweeted, “Fifty years after the US withdrawal from Vietnam, Agent Orange continues to cause birth defects, deadly disease, and heartbreak. That’s why I’m proud to introduce the Victims of Agent Orange Act and the Agent Orange Relief Act. Justice demands healing, repair, and accountability.”
Also on May 1, 2025, Tlaib took a stand on labor rights regarding federal workers. Referencing an executive order by Trump, she highlighted its impact on union rights for federal workers. She commented, “Through an illegal executive order, Trump has stripped the right to unionize from nearly 1 million federal workers in more than 30 agencies. This International Workers’ Day, I’m standing with all of the federal workers the Trump Administration has targeted and unjustly fired.”
