Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who has represented Michigan’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress since 2019 and previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives, recently shared a series of posts on social media addressing issues related to U.S. foreign policy, the Supreme Court, and government spending.

On July 14, 2025, Tlaib commented on an incident involving an American citizen and Israeli settlers. She stated: “An American was beaten to death by Israeli settlers backed by the military. Instead of pursuing justice for Sayfollah, our government continues to send billions to prop up the apartheid system that killed him and kills Palestinians like him every day. Arms Embargo Now.”

Later that day, Tlaib criticized a recent decision by the Supreme Court regarding former President Trump and education policy. She wrote: “Once again, the far-right Supreme Court is allowing Trump to circumvent Congress and gut the Department of Education. This is an attack on million of kids across every school district in our country.”

In another post on July 14, Tlaib addressed federal funding for technology contracts involving high-profile individuals and companies. She stated: “DOGE was never about waste, it was always about cashing in. It’s shameful that the Pentagon is sending another $200 million of our tax dollars to the richest man alive for a chatbot that—less than a week ago—was praising Hitler.”

Tlaib was born in Detroit in 1976 and currently resides there. She graduated from Wayne State University with a BA in 1998 and earned her JD from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2004.
