I’m grateful to my colleagues @RepPressley & @RepPettersen for leading on this urgent call to @SecRubio to pressure the Israeli government to end the blockade and allow baby formula into Gaza. Lives depend on it.”

Later that day, she highlighted community improvements in Southfield: “Lots of great changes happening in Southfield! At the Middlepointe Development Stakeholder Preview with @Southfield_Gov and @MEDC, we saw plans for affordable housing, retail, workforce development, and greenspace on Evergreen.” The tweet referenced collaboration with local government and economic organizations.

On August 29, 2025, Tlaib shared news about transportation infrastructure: “A trail on 9-mile is coming! At the Southfield City Council meeting, SEMCOG presented funding through the Transportation Reauthorization Act to create a safe pedestrian and bike pathway for our community.”

Tlaib has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after succeeding Brenda Jones. She previously represented her community in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2009 to 2014. Born in Detroit in 1976 and currently residing there, Tlaib holds degrees from Wayne State University (BA) and Thomas M. Cooley Law School (JD).
