Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who represents Michigan’s 12th district in the U.S. House of Representatives, has recently posted a series of statements on her social media accounts addressing topics ranging from financial transparency to maternal mental health.

On July 23, 2025, Tlaib wrote: “Treasury Dept has documented 4k+ wire transfers totaling $1.5 billion+ connected to Epstein. I offered an amendment requiring a public report. Victims and the American people deserve the full story, including why Chase and BoA only reported the activity after Epstein’s arrest.” The congresswoman called for more transparency regarding financial transactions associated with Jeffrey Epstein and questioned why certain banks reported these activities only after his arrest.

Later that day, she posted: “Free Palestine.” This statement reflects her ongoing advocacy on Middle East issues.

On July 24, 2025, Tlaib highlighted an awareness week by posting: “This week is Black Maternal Mental Health Week. To our Mamas, remember you are not alone.”

Tlaib has served as a member of Congress since 2019 after replacing Brenda Jones and previously served in the Michigan House of Representatives from 2009 to 2014. She was born in Detroit in 1976 and continues to reside there. Tlaib graduated from Wayne State University with a BA in 1998 and earned her JD from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2004.
