Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who represents Michigan’s 12th district in the U.S. Congress, posted a series of statements on July 24, 2025, addressing legislative efforts related to artificial intelligence and expressing support for international political causes.

In a post published at 17:54 UTC, Tlaib announced her participation in new legislation: “Proud to join @RepCasar in introducing the Stop AI Price Gouging and Wage Fixing Act to ban companies from using sensitive personal information to raise prices or lower wages. Consumers deserve fair & transparent prices and employees should be fully compensated for their work.”

Tlaib has served as the representative for Michigan’s 12th District since 2019 after succeeding Brenda Jones. She previously held office in the Michigan House of Representatives between 2009 and 2014. Born in Detroit in 1976, Tlaib continues to reside there today. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wayne State University (1998) and a Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School (2004).
