Ilitch Sports + Entertainment has announced the launch of Detroit SportsNet (DSN), a new broadcast platform for local fans of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings. DSN will provide year-round coverage, with options to watch through cable or satellite television packages as well as in-market streaming.

Starting this season, all locally televised Detroit Tigers games will be available on DSN. The network will also become the home for Detroit Red Wings broadcasts beginning with the 2026-27 season. Fans interested in streaming can learn more about subscription options by visiting Tigers.com/detroitsportsnet or DetroitRedWings.com/detroitsportsnet.

A single subscription allows fans within the local market to stream both Tigers and Red Wings games. For baseball, games are accessible via the MLB App, which is available on web, mobile, and connected TV platforms. The app provides highlights, statistics, and news from across Major League Baseball. Information about how subscribers can access Red Wings games starting in 2026-27 will be provided later this summer.

Negotiations with cable and satellite distributors are ongoing regarding channel availability for DSN. Once agreements are finalized, details about providers and specific channel assignments will be released.

The Tigers broadcast team features Jason Benetti and Dan Dickerson on play-by-play duties, joined by analysts Andy Dirks and Dan Petry. Last season saw record-setting viewership for the Tigers, including a 121% increase in per-game streamers and a 101% rise in per-game household impressions. Only five U.S.-based teams had higher per-game viewership last year, with only two achieving a higher average rating.

The Detroit Tigers have a long history in Major League Baseball’s American League Central Division. The team has won multiple World Series titles—including championships in 1935, 1945, 1968, and 1984—and plays at Comerica Park since its transition there in 2000. The franchise recognizes legendary players through retired numbers and Hall of Fame inductions while contributing to community initiatives such as youth education programs and charitable donations.

For hockey fans, Red Wings broadcasts will move to DSN after the conclusion of the upcoming NHL season. Until then, coverage remains on FanDuel Sports Network without changes required for viewers.

As of the Olympic Break this season, the Red Wings rank fifth among U.S.-based NHL teams in household ratings and are tied for third place in household viewership out of 25 teams. Ken Daniels and Mickey Redmond—voted top NHL broadcast duo by The Athletic’s annual fan survey for consecutive seasons—are expected to continue leading telecasts when coverage transitions to DSN.
