The Detroit Lions and the University of Michigan Credit Union (UMCU) have announced an extension and expansion of their partnership, which began in 2018. This collaboration aims to continue supporting the Detroit community through various initiatives.

Detroit Lions Chief Operating Officer Mike Disner expressed enthusiasm about the ongoing partnership, stating, “We are excited to continue our partnership with UMCU and solidify another Michigan-based partner who is committed to growing and providing for the entire state.” He emphasized that UMCU’s dedication to service and education aligns with the Lions’ off-field mission.

UMCU CEO Tiffany Ford highlighted the importance of this collaboration, saying, “Our goal is simple. We want to amaze our members, community and the UMCU team by working together for our shared success. It’s at the heart of everything we do.” She noted how football brings communities together, aligning with UMCU’s purpose.

The partnership includes collaborations with Detroit Lions players Jahmyr Gibbs, Brian Branch, and Terrion Arnold to offer fans unique experiences. These include family tailgate events, Cub Club events, on-field experiences, a Lions-branded debit card, and opportunities to win game tickets.

Additionally, educational benefits form a significant part of this partnership. UMCU provides financial literacy programs tailored for different groups such as Cub Club members and Lions season ticket holders. The focus remains on making a positive impact both on and off the field.
