Detroit City Football Club secured its first victory of the 2025 USL W League season with a decisive 6-0 win against Toledo Villa FC. The match was highlighted by two goals each from Kate Childers and Hannah Crum, with additional goals from Abby Smothers and Tatiana Mason.

The game began under challenging conditions due to steady rain, which affected the playing surface and complicated passing for both teams. Despite this, Detroit City took an early lead when Kate Childers’ shot from outside the box deflected off the keeper into the net.

Le Rouge quickly doubled their lead five minutes later. Hannah Crum delivered a precise pass to Abby Smothers, who navigated past two defenders to score. Childers scored her second goal in the 40th minute following a corner kick from Sophia Romine, giving Detroit a 3-0 advantage at halftime.

In the second half, as the rain subsided, Detroit maintained their offensive pressure. Four minutes after play resumed, Hannah Crum extended the lead to 4-0 by capitalizing on a loose ball in the box. Substitutions occurred in the 59th minute with Elisa Baeron and Alexandra Karolak replacing Maia Soulis and Kate Childers.

Crum scored again after these changes, increasing Detroit’s lead to 5-0. Further substitutions were made in the 65th minute when Kayla Addison, Ava Landstra, and Tatiana Mason entered for Hannah Crum, Acadia Murphy, and Abby Werthman.
